Proggy Care is a dry dog food designed for adult dogs to support them during the maintenance phase of their life. Unlike most commercially available dog foods, which have a high protein content, it has a low amount of protein, which is an important factor to consider since most dogs (and other pets) are domestic animals.
When provided with unrestricted access to a nutritionally balanced diet, most dogs will consume the amount of food necessary to meet their daily energy requirements without exceeding them. However, the fact that high-energy, appetising food is so widely available today poses a significant challenge.

The percentage of plant-based protein in Proggy Care comes from the legumes it contains (lentils, chickpeas and peas). It has been specially formulated to provide the necessary amount to satisfy the metabolic needs of dogs at this stage of life, while meeting all their essential amino acid requirements.

Adult dogs do not need nutrients to help them grow or gain weight. Consumption of excess food that is not utilised by the body results in the storage of fat in various organs and tissues, which can pose significant health risks. Adult dogs only require the essential nutrients necessary for their bodies to function properly and for their organs to work normally: this is precisely why Proggy Care contains 23% of highly digestible and bioavailable plant-based protein.
In addition, controlling and balancing the amount of protein administered enables us to minimise waste of raw materials, reduce our environmental impact on the local area and preserve energy sources.
